Phillies players honor stricken minor-leaguer during batting practice

And on their chests.
Brito Strong read the words on the T-shirts. Everybody on the field wore one during batting practice, from the coaches to the support staff to manager Joe Girardi.
According to Girardi, the shirts were commissioned by veteran second baseman Jean Segura in honor of Daniel Brito, the 23-year-old infielder from Venezuela who collapsed while playing for the Triple A Lehigh Valley club during a game in Rochester, New York on July 31.
“Not everyone knows Daniel, but he means a lot. He’s one of us,” Girardi said. “He’s going through a really tough time. We’re all praying for him and want him to know that we’re behind him and we’ve got his back and want to do whatever we can. So, I think it’s great when it comes from the players.”
Brito had two surgeries shortly after he was stricken. He remains in stable condition in a Rochester hospital. His mother has traveled from Venezuela to be with him.
